"The purchase of Star Trek has fulfilled Bryce's dream of having others experience the excitement and relaxation provided by being aboard a first class charter boat enjoying the outdoors and catching fish."

BRYCE, SUE, KAREN & VANESSA
Hi. We are the Hooton family. We have two children named Karen and Vanessa. Bryce lost his eyesight at the age of 19 and after continuing to share-milk cows for several months on the family farm decided he had to find a more suitable career. After a trial at beekeeping Bryce and Sue found they had a natural ability at this and so got stuck in and formed Golden Flow Honey. Their brand is now found in New World and Pak n Save supermarkets in the North Island. Looking after in excess of 1000 Beehives and an extracting plant would be considered by most to be a full time occupation but Bryce and Sue have always found time for other interests and enjoy fishing at every opportunity.
The family, including both girls and Bryce's Guide dog "Force", can be found quite often moored out at the Mercury Islands fishing through the change of light, in the family 20 footer named "Arpoi". Bryce and Sue are both active members of The Matamata Fishing Club. (One of New Zealand's largest "In Land" fishing clubs with in excess of 500 members). Bryce also held a position on the Executive Committee for in excess of 13 years.
One Base Tournament Tauranga 2002. Bryce with his 124 Kg Trophy winning Marlin
Sue Hooton tell us :" Our love for fishing began in the Tauranga harbour in a 12 foot dinghy, moving to the Coromandel Mussel farms in our first 16 foot boat catching plenty of pan-sized snapper but always with a desire to catch trophy fish. A beach bach was purchased at Cooks Beach after years of caravanning in the area and the choice of fishing for Bryce, myself and our two girls became stray lining for big snapper at the Mercury Islands or chasing big game fish in the Mercury Bay region. Bryce loves the Big Game fishing tournaments and attends as many as his busy lifestyle will fit in. Bryce is well known in fishing circles as an energetic and passionate fisherman.
